Reduce the Appearance of Crow’s Feet with BOTOX

December 19, 2016 by

Crow’s feet are among the first and most noticeable signs of the normal aging process. These are tiny creases that appear around the outer corners of the eyes, especially when people smile. While diligent self-care and a skin routine that includes the latest and most innovative eye creams and moisturizers can minimize crinkling in this area, certain types of wrinkles are unlikely to respond to these measures. These are called dynamic wrinkles, and they are caused by repeated movement and the resulting tension in the expressive facial muscles. BOTOX® is an FDA-approved injectable that is designed to temporarily relax the expressive muscles so that the surface skin regains a smooth and even appearance.

How BOTOX® Works

BOTOX® is designed to temporarily block the nerve signals to the expressive muscles. When injected into select facial areas, it quickly releases muscle tension and the resulting dynamic wrinkles. This creates a smoother and more youthful-looking visage without having any significant impact on overall facial movement. Best of all, BOTOX® treatments do not entail any incisions, tissue removal or structural alterations. There is no extended recovery time.

It’s important to note that the effects of BOTOX® can last for up to four months. After this time, the injections will need to be repeated to ensure extended results. Fortunately, this treatment can be safely performed two to three times each year.

Is BOTOX® the Right Treatment for You?

This is the perfect cosmetic treatment for those seeking to reduce the appearance of mild to moderate dynamic wrinkles. In many instances, patients with both dynamic and static wrinkles can achieve impressive results from the combined use of BOTOX® and fillers. During your consultation at our office, our team will establish an individualized treatment plan for safely achieving your aesthetic goals.

What to Expect

BOTOX® injections are performed in the comfort of our office. Shortly before your treatment is started, numbing agents can be applied to the targeted areas to minimize discomfort. During the treatment, the BOTOX® solution is skillfully injected into the areas to be treated.

You may experience immediate improvements in the texture and overall appearance of your skin; however, you can expect to see a continued lessening of dynamic wrinkles across the visage throughout the days following your procedure.
