Vaser Lipo Treatments for Stubborn Body Fat

Vaser Lipo

Even after dieting and exercise, many people find they retain stubborn deposits of fat in certain areas of the body. Until recently, the only way to treat these stubborn deposits was with surgical liposuction. Vaser Lipo is a minimally invasive liposuction procedure that can remove stubborn fat deposits and reshape the body’s contour without surgery.

Vaser Lipo

Vaser stands for “vibration amplification of sound energy at resonance.” Essentially, special ultrasound waves are used to break up fat cells in targeted areas of the body. The ultrasound only destroys the fat cells, leaving the skin, muscle, blood vessels, nerves, and other tissues in the area intact.

A tiny incision is made through the skin, and a narrow cannula is inserted to suction out the liquefied fat. The incisions are so small that stitches are not necessary. The results are subtle, smooth, and very natural looking. The ultrasound stimulates the overlying skin to produce more collagen, leading to tighter, firmer, more youthful-looking skin in the treated area.

Areas

Practically all of the common problem areas in both men and women can be treated by Vaser Lipo. Bulging abdomens, dimpled thighs and buttocks, flabby inner thighs, double chins, love handles, sagging upper arms, male breasts, and even thick ankles can all be tightened, trimmed, and reshaped using Vaser Lipo. Because it only targets fat cells, Vaser can be used to remove the fat overlying muscles, producing a sculpted, defined appearance that isn’t possible to achieve using any other fat-removing method. Male athletes who have been struggling to achieve definition now have an alternative to drastic methods such as starvation dieting.

What to Expect

Vaser Lipo procedures are performed in our Orlando office, but under local anesthesia/sedation only. Because general anesthesia is not necessary there are few risks or side effects, and recovery is fast. The procedure takes an hour or two, depending on which areas are being targeted, and patients typically go home the same day.

Recovery

Patients are advised to rest for about 12 hours after the procedure, and to avoid strenuous activities for two to three weeks. There will be some bruising and swelling at the site of treatment. Full results of the treatment will not be apparent for several weeks until the area has healed fully.

Safety

Vaser has been in widespread use for over a decade. It has few risks or side effects. Patients with medical conditions that impair healing or clotting, such as diabetes or vascular disorders, may not be good candidates for Vaser. It will be determined during your consultation if this treatment is right for you.
