Dermaplaning for Non-Surgical Skin Rejuvenation

August 22, 2016 by

dermaplaning

Everyone wants young, smooth, vibrant skin. Even though some individuals are able to achieve this naturally, most individuals need a little bit of help in order to get rid of dead skin cells, treat acne and keep their skin looking young. There are quite a few options that are currently available in order to rejuvenate your skin. One option to consider is dermaplaning. This is a non-surgical procedure that can help you to have smooth, fresh-looking skin.

The first thing you may be wondering is, “What is dermaplaning?” Many people are still unfamiliar with this procedure. Basically, our professionals are going to use a special tool to very gently scrape away dead skin cells that are on the surface of your skin. It is basically an exfoliating procedure that not only gets rid of everything on the surface layer of your skin, but also makes the body think that it is injured and needs to heal itself. For this reason, it is going to produce more collagen and other compounds to produce younger, tighter and fresher skin.

During the dermaplaning process, all of the hair on your face is going to be removed. Normally, this hair is referred to as peach fuzz. Even though most people do not even notice the peach buzz on their face, it is interesting because this peach fuzz can actually trap dirt and oil. When dirt and oil are trapped against your skin, it can lead to a variety of skin problems, including acne.

Some individuals may feel concerned that when the peach fuzz is removed, it will grow in darker and thicker. However, this is not something that you need to be concerned about. After the dermaplaning procedure has been performed, the peach fuzz will grow in just as it was before.

The actual dermaplaning procedure is quite simple. We will begin by cleansing your face and making sure that it is free of grease. Then one of our specialists will very gently use a tool to scrape away the surface layer of your skin. This is where dead skin cells, oil and dirt are trapped. Most all of your face is going to be cleansed in this way.

When you leave, your skin will not be irritated or red. You do not need any time to recover; you can simply return to work or to whatever you had planned for the day. This makes dermaplaning an ideal treatment for people with busy schedules.

If you have been looking for a way to rejuvenate your skin non-surgically, visit The Institute of Aesthetic Surgery, with offices in Celebration and Altamonte Springs. Contact us today to schedule your consultation to learn more about dermaplaning.
