What Are the Different Types of Juvederm?

November 18, 2021 by Alexandra Colvin

juvederm voluma

The power to transform your appearance and restore youth to your complexion is well within your reach; it starts with the right dermal filler. At The Institute of Aesthetic Surgery in Celebration, FL, we offer several of the popular Juvederm fillers so that our patients can combat aging and achieve their ideal appearance in a quick and virtually painless treatment.

What Are the Different Types of Juvederm?

Patients love the Juvederm collection of fillers because there are so many different options. When it comes to addressing different facial concerns, including issues with symmetry, proportion, features you just don’t like, or the signs of aging like volume loss, creases, facial folds, wrinkles, and lines, this brand doesn’t disappoint.

This brand has fillers that can treat every area of the face and help patients with all different concerns achieve their ideal image. The different fillers from this collection include:

  • Volbella
  • Ultra
  • Ultra Plus
  • Voluma
  • Vollure
  • Juvederm XC

The Different Fillers

At The Institute of Aesthetic Surgery, we offer several different fillers from this line. These fillers are effective, long-lasting, and versatile. They can help enhance your features, combat the signs of aging, or both.

Vollure and XC

As you age, lines, wrinkles, and facial folds form around the mouth with different degrees of severity. These lines are technically called smile lines, but they can show up as nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and other types of smile lines.

Years of smiling, talking, eating, and laughing can cause these lines around the mouth to worsen as your skin loses elasticity, collagen, and hyaluronic acid. Vollure and XC are the two specific fillers from this brand that are designed to treat those smiles lines around the mouth.

Voluma

Voluma is a popular filler from this collection that adds definition to the cheeks. Whether you simply want to contour your cheeks or you need to restore volume and address flattening that has occurred with the aging process, this formulation is a perfect option. It can restore fullness to the face, help you feel and look more youthful, and re-contour and define your face.

Additionally, in recent years this filler has also been used to inject volume deep into the chin to enhance the chin profile. If you’re not happy with the appearance of your chin and want to make it more aesthetically pleasing, this filler can help redefine your chin profile and help you feel better about your overall appearance.

Ultra and Volbella

Volbella and Ultra are the two different fillers in this collection that can treat the lips. For some, the aging process results in lips that appear thinner than they used to or thinner than they would like, and as a result, it changes the way the face looks and how they feel about their appearance.

Additionally, some people just want fuller lips to achieve their ideal image, and so, for whatever reason you want to address your lips, whether it’s because of aging or cosmetic-related concerns, one of these two fillers can do an excellent job at augmenting and delivering natural volume to the lips.

Ultra Plus

For some, the aging process has affected their appearance to the point that deep lines and creases have developed around the mouth. For that reason, this collection has a specific formulation that can target the more advanced signs of aging. Ultra Plus is designed to address deeper lines, wrinkles, and folds in the mid to lower half of the face.

The formulation has been designed with a thicker consistency and more durable formulation to smooth even the worst lines and wrinkles. If you think that your lines and wrinkles are too deep or too severe for a filler, think again. This filler will prove you wrong, and you’ll love your results.

What Is Juvederm?

This collection of dermal fillers is designed to enhance the appearance and restore volume below the surface of the skin. Each of the fillers in this collection is formulated with a synthetic ingredient called hyaluronic acid. Your body makes hyaluronic acid, yet production decreases as you age. These fillers are made of a crystal clear gel formulation containing a version of hyaluronic acid that closely matches what the body makes.

A Hyaluronic Acid-Based Line of Fillers

This synthetic hyaluronic acid formulation contains particle sizes and a molecular structure that is so similar to what your body creates naturally that it blends into the skin’s structure. Each of these fillers is formulated with a specific particle size to treat smaller and larger areas of the face. That’s why there are several different fillers, not just one, because the creators of this collection understood that different parts of the face require different filler consistencies to address specific concerns.

There’s no one size fits all approach to dermal fillers, especially with this particular line. You’ll be able to treat one or multiple areas with a filler specifically designed for those areas so that you can reach your ideal image and look and feel like a younger and improved version of yourself.

How It Works

This process begins with an initial consultation with one of our experts, who will discuss your concerns, evaluate your problem areas in person, and help determine which of the fillers that we offer here at our office can meet your needs.

We will also ask you some preliminary questions to ensure that this treatment is right for you. We will find out more about your medical history and the specific concerns you want to address so that we can create a comprehensive treatment plan that addresses and meets each of your aesthetic needs. Our experts can help you achieve all of your aesthetic goals in one quick appointment.

The Injections

One of the benefits of this particular line of dermal fillers is that each filler contains lidocaine. This very mild numbing agent will help make the injection process feel completely comfortable. We can also apply a topical numbing cream to your skin to help ensure your comfort.

As soon as our expert injector administers one of these fillers into your skin, you will see immediate results. The fillers will begin restoring volume, plumping, and lifting your problem areas, and your results will continue to improve in the week following your treatment.

How We Use These Fillers

While there are some traditional uses for these dermal fillers, our expert injectors can use fillers from this line to address some specific concerns. With the right dermal filler, we can:

  • Redefine and fill the lips
  • Contour the nose
  • Fill in acne scars or general facial scars
  • Smooth facial folds, lines, and wrinkles
  • Add shape to the jawline, face, and cheeks
  • Eliminate the appearance of under-eye bags

Your Results and What To Expect

One of the benefits of this particular line of fillers is that each delivers long-lasting results. Your results will be immediate and will continue to improve with every day that passes during the week following your treatment. Even though these results are temporary, you can maintain your desired appearance long-term by scheduling follow-up treatments as soon as you notice a change in your results.

Typically, the fillers in this collection last anywhere from six months to two years, based on which one is used in your treatment plan. Once we create that treatment plan, we can provide you with a better idea of how long your results will last so that you know what to expect post-treatment.

Achieving the Best Results

This minimally invasive treatment doesn’t require that you plan around downtime. However, one of our injectors will provide you with a detailed list of aftercare instructions so that you can achieve the best possible results. You may be asked to avoid some specific environments and activities for the first couple of days after your treatment as the filler settles below your skin.

You will be asked to avoid excessive sunlight and sun exposure. Additionally, you should avoid strenuous workouts for 24 hours post-treatment and extreme heat or touching the treatment sites to avoid interfering with your results.

Add a Dermal Filler to Your Anti-Aging Routine

Looking your best doesn’t have to be difficult. You can enhance your appearance and combat the aging process in as little as a 30-minute dermal filler appointment. If you want to experience all the benefits of Juvederm, we can help. Contact us today at The Institute of Aesthetic Surgery in Celebration, FL, to learn more about these fillers and if they are right for you.
